“it takes thousands of years to degrade a goddess into a witch.” gee, i wonder why this short film ($1 rental) was “lost” for 28 years? its time again to play “what kind of drugs were they on?” the sweeping theological / philosophical pretentiousness, combined with personal eccentricity, provides gleeful, cruel amusement. the desert scenery, often mirrored left to right, and other trippy effects are interesting but fall far short of the cerebral devastation they obviously were intended to cause. there’s slender tna from myriam gibril (as aisha, the witch / goddess) and briefly, another, uncredited young woman. the pg rating for this must surely have been an oversight. gibril’s air-headed, lingerie-model demeanor, and frilly, often phonetic, heavily french accented line reading had me giggling as she struggled to get out the pompous lines she was given. like “new rose hotel” i suspect the primary purpose of this movie was to get the lead actress naked. the entire “plot” comes across as: “oh mama! have mercy! you’re too sexy! you’ll destroy the universe with your wicked booty!” highly recommended.
