russ meyer dabbles in slaveplotation
Okay, this movie is highly offensive, with all the elements of the slave owner books of a century past, but man, it has some images in it that go beyond any of the other big tittied action meyer relied on for years. not for everyone, and probably a disappointment to meyer fans, but as an unapologetic explotation film, it's worth studying.

<[:-} the greatest opening credits in exploitation history?
this is the cartoon ralph bakshi kept trying to make. the opening credit sequence is horrifically outrageous, with an overload of offensive language and images delivered so over the top, but at the same time so dead on effectively and stylishly, that the rest of the movie is sort of anticlimactic. its a pretty conventional degradation / revenge film in form, but does push the envelope for content. if you’ve ever seen an “ilsa” type movie, substitute male slaves for female extermination camp prisoners and you’ll know the general moral tone. the cinematography is excellent, the sets are beautiful, and the casting and editing are great. anouska hempel is a world class sexual provocateur, and the sequence with her snapping the “blacksnake” whip (seen in the credits and again later) has surely caused many a masochist to soil himself.
