<[:) PERHAPS A LITTLE TOO WELL ACTED
THIS IS NOT A PERFECT MOVIE, BUT THE CASTING AND PERFORMANCES ARE REALY GOOD. RAILSBACK IS TOO CREEPY FOR WORDS. I'M SURPRISED HE DIDN'T PUT IN MORE GRAPHIC ELEMENTS. SURELY HE DIDN'T EXPECT TO GET AN "R" RATING. I THINK HE DELIBERATELY WENT EASY BECAUSE HE DID NOT WANT IT TO BE AN EXPLOITATION FILM. IF THIS IS TRUE, I FIND IT A LITTLE DISTURBING.

ALMOST ALRIGHT
I was very excited about this film being released. When I first read about the gruesome crimes of Ed Gein back in 1957...I was shocked that I had never heard of the man...if you could call him that. I soon discovered that Hitchcock's "Psycho" and Hooper's "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" as well as Harris' "Silence of the Lambs" had all been inspired by this deranged madman. Speaking of "Deranged"...if you want to see a creepy film based on the crimes of Ed Gein...the 1974 film directed by Alan Orsmby "Deranged" is the one I suggest you rent. As for Stephen Railsback's "Ed Gein"...it's almost on the mark...it sticks to the facts through most of the film...only changing some details...I myself have always been interested in bringing the story of Ed Gein to the big screen and in my opinion..."Ed Gein" falls short of being scary or very good. But anyone who is interested in seeing a film about the most twisted killer in American History...I say check it out.

This dude had a bone windchime.
I am a Leatherface preservationist. This dude Gein, spawned the idea. He really repped it. It's like this, he is sick of lookin' at this one chick. So he is all like, "Come over, I got beans to eat." She is like, "Cool beans." But he don't even give her Van de Camps, he reps the rat poison flavor. Damage. Then he rocks her skin. Word on the nastiness.

Scary? Nope. Thrilling? Huh-uh
Took a perfect subject "Ed Gein" and made a bad b movie with it. Could have been more suspensful. You knew who was going to die. You knew how it was gonna happen as you are led by the hand through the whole movie. It really sucked.
