<[:-} made me want to watch the "cat people" remake again
i tried to hate this innocence fetish chester chow, but i couldn't. the plot has the curious teens at a girl's boarding school eager to lose their virginity to the equally eager and equally inexperienced boy's in the adjacent boy's boarding school. no one gets anywhere. they can't even kiss without bumping heads. this 1978 german jail bait exploitation movie is very similar in slimy feel to the 1980 tatum o'neal / kristy mcnichol exploitator "little darlings." deborah, nastassia kinski's character, convinces the other girls to pretend to be prostitutes working out of a make believe brothel that is so highly organized that it begs for jokes about german efficiency. lovely young women in romance novel clothing and sets are beautifully photographed in saturated color and soft focus. of course, the real audience for "boarding school" is made up of perverts like me that want to see 19 year old kinski semi-nude. they make you wait, but you get your money's worth. the people that did the dubbing had fun with it, maintaining the absurd naivety but sneaking in wtf? lines. a song contains the line "if you miss your first kiss, try her lips, not her hips." two boys are shown kissing, the earliest such scene i can remember. of course, they are practicing so they won't be so awkward with the girls. the lame slapstick finish is driven by "disinhibiting pills...from america" in the punch at the prom.
