This Film is FUCKING DEEP!!!
This is a clasic film and needs to be watched if you haven't seen it

One of Jet's Best!
Fist of Legend is a retelling (as opposed to a "remake") of Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection, And though there was and ever shall be only one Bruce Lee, this is on the whole a superior movie to Chinese Connection. The 'depth' of the movie (as attested to by the other reviewer) comes in part from a cast of great actors and in part because of, well, just a really good script. Unlike many of the classic 70s era 'chop-socky', which often depicted the Japanese as vicious and without honor (while the Chinese were only 'true patriots'), Fists of Legend shows us in very clear and occasionally poignant terms that the traits of 'honor', 'loyalty', and 'good kung-fu' are not the province of any one people or nationality - and likewise, the grosser human traits of 'betrayal', 'cowardice', and 'malice' are also not the predominant traits of any given people: Instead we are just people, and people all over have these traits. We also all 'Love' - and Jet's character is in love with a Japanese woman. Among the truly honorable to appear in this movie is Yasuaki Kurata, a Japanese Karate expert who faces off against Jet and realizes how honorable Jet's character really is. Playing alongside Jet as a fellow student at their school is Chin Siu Ho (Jet's 'brother' in Tai Chi Master), who turns out to be a less honorable man, though Chinese. Well, words don't give the full impact of this movie at all. See this movie and you've seen one of the genre's best, and Jet's, best. I have to give it a solid 8 and a half out of 10 stars. Oh yeah, did I mention the action is KICK-A$$!?! A real treat also for those who don't groove on wire work. - Matt
