Overall, pretty good remake.
I was jazzed up when I heard a remake of "Dawn of the Dead" was being shot but was at the same time skeptical. We've all seen how Hollywood has butchered classic films especially with the abomination of the remake of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". This film, though, is overall pretty good. The first 20 minutes are some of the most intense of any horror film. Had the movie kept it up throughout, it'd rank as one of the best of all time. Alas, it doesn't. The action is jerky throughout the rest of the picture. There are plot holes (the inexplicable conversion of one of the heavies, the decision to leave the mall, etc.) but still the movie is well worth viewing. Free advice: MAKE SURE to stay for the entire credits for the movie keeps going throughout them.
