Hey, man. Itīs only a game
The Getaway itīs, probably, the best film of Sam Peckinpah. In that he shoot this film, as well as Pat Garret & Billy the kid. These films are the most inteligent of his carrer. In The Getaway we can see all the Peckinpahīs technical affairs (like de slow camera, the broken edition, the tricks with the sound, the bloody and violent secenes, the traitors, the impossible love, and a inhuman vision of a lonely world for people who takes care about his ideas). Also we can proof the savoir faire with his actors. Steve Mc Queen plays an extraordinary Doc Mc Coy, and Ali Mc Graw in her best perfomance. Also we found some of Peckinpahīs friends like Slim Pickens, Ben Johnson and many more. The excelent work of teh master Lucien Ballard grows a picture that is simply the top of the seventies action films. I havenīt seen many action films (and films in general) as good, surprising, perfect, thrilling, exciting, romantic, tragic, chilling, and violent as The Getaway is.
