David Chiang
Not a bad old-schooler starring David Chiang
and a host of slightly lesser known members of
the Yuen Clan (except 'Sam the Seed' who plays
a (gasp!) kindly old kung-fu master. Chiang plays
an officer for the local town's police. Chiang only wants to
keep the peace of course, but there is corruption in the force
due to the influence of a local big-wig who is also trying to
get guns to the Manchus (I think it was the Manchus, not positive!).
To make matters worse, he's enlisted the help of a top fighter, a snake stylist
played by Lung Tien-sheng [the Spearman in the Venoms movie "Flag of Iron"]. he
does a great job by the way (not as cool as the Spearman in White though!)
Chiang has help though, and is even assisted by 'Chief Inspector Monkey' and a dog, both of whom are
really cute and hold their own with the other actors. Fairly light
stuff all-in-all, but charming. I'd give it 6 and half out of 10, or a 7
because of the pressence of so many Yuens (I don't know these Yuens so well though)
