With Anita Mui and Tze
A fun action movie with Jet Li playing an undercover cop whose family has no idea what he does for a living. I really like Jet but this movie, which has a lot going for it, suffers in several ways and does not stand out as one of Jet's finer offerings (though I've noticed other fans tend to praise this one). Jet has to infiltrate a ruthless gang of terrorists who have successfully eluded legal prosecution. He and his son (the awesome Tze Mui- a talented young scrapper who is given a Much Better chance to strut his stuff in "New Heroes of Shaolin") get help from well known actress Anita Mui, who plays a Hong Kong cop caught in a love triangle! My only real problems with these 'Jet Li as family man' movies is that his characters do often come off as a 'tad insensitive'!! The way his wife is portrayed is, I feel, pretty damn weak. The violence done to the kid is also a bit over the top (for Western, not Chinese audiences). This IS worth seeing, esp. if you like actin/ martial arts/ and/or Jet Li. Also stars :Yu Rong-Guang, Blacky Ko, Ken Lo, Ngai Sing (as the bad guys I think). Some great combat scenes! But see New Heroes of Shaolin first. Matt
