<[:-} "tie me up! tie me down!" until i get stockholm syndrome?
almost exactly 5 years after watching the crappy vhs print of this stoogifesto, one of my earliest muggings at the tender hands of the wild & woolly professionals, i felt the need to watch this less crappy dvd print. the oppressive stupidity of this movie nearly kept me from getting through it, but it does have stuff you'll never see anywhere else. to wit: a man who has his murdered siamese twin stuffed, dangling helplessly from it after it is hung on a tree, while "mad max" types bellow and circle underneath, later dragging both the stuffed twin and a huge tree limb around. you don't have to have a specific bondage fetish to appreciate frederique feder, who spends a lot of time tied up and gagged (pedro "tie me up! tie me down!" almodovar was the producer). i'm not sure that i caught the main gag 5 years ago: feder plays "patricia," who suffers from "stockholm syndrome," obviously meant to be patricia hearst, and the mutant revolutionary group is obviously meant to be the symbionese liberation army. i felt bad about this oversight until i ran it through google and didn't find anyone else that had made the connection. d. alex d. iglesia's "perdita durango" a.k.a. "dance with the devil" sits at the main table in the hall of psychotronic immortals, but the rest of his movies all have more promise than realization.
