Wells' Classic Crime Noir
Okay, I know Charlton Heston is NOT hispanic, but he's playing a hispanic, and ordinarily i'd harp on that quite a bit. But the fact that this movie is so excellent in spite of Hollywood's BS, makes me get off my high horse and recommend it highly. Ol' Chuck is passible, and Vivian Leigh is a hottie! Look for a Rolly Polly Wells as a crooked cop in a small Mexixan town. Look for the special ReEdited/ReMixed Well's Version of the film. A Classic, and not pretensious and boring like Citizen Kane (oops did I say something bad?)

Dig that Crane Shot
A Film-Noir masterpiece, Welles, Heston (as a Mexican!), and Leigh deliver stunning performances. Done in 1958 some of the scenes the first time I saw them shocked me at how frank and on the edge this movie was, which along with other things got Welles fired as director. The film went on to be cut against his wishes, BUT Welles did write a memo of how he WOULD have cut the movie himself. And in '99 Movie was re-released with Welles specifications thanks in part to star Heston. Get the Welles version at around 2 hrs, the studio one is only 85.
