if you squint your third eye, you could see this as what would result if bobby beausoleil caught up with kenneth anger and collected what he was owed, with e. elias merhige along to document. even trying hard to like it, it left me with the final impression of a geeky goth-boy suck-a-rama. the cinematography and general visual content, and thus the atmosphere, veers wildly from "begotten" level creepiness to high school home movie snooziness. genuine horror imagery, such as the word “pig” actually being carved into some clown's chest with a razor blade, is cut heavily with velveeta, such as threading line with a blunt tool through pre-existing nipple piercings. clocking in at about 20 minutes, it makes you feel like you need the extras to get your moneys worth, but a lesson I should have learned from “schramm” was reinforced here: any illusion of substance was spoiled by the interview with the creator.
