Wu Tang Swordsman is a flick from the late 70’s (‘79?) originally called ‘Mysterious Heroes’ starring Carter Wong and the irresistible Polly Shang Kwan. The movie opens with Carter clad in black and practicing outdoors, where his “sister” Polly soon joins him for an intense sparing match.. The plot revolves around the resurgence of the legend of Lau Tien Fong, a popular folk hero who had been imprisoned 20 years ago by local Ming (?) officials, for inciting the populace. Lau Tien is famous for his 13-Sword Style as well as his Green Crusted Sword. Wong plays a hot headed young man who wanders in search of fame and is intrigued by Lau Tien’s legend. He decides to use the legend and identity of Lau Tien and stirs things up, much to Polly’s (and the official’s) distress. But the real acting here is carried out by an actor I’m not familiar with, but who plays the towns wondering begger , while singing of the legendary freedon fighter, Lau Tien. He is in truth a skilled fighter who will wind up helping Polly & Carter in rescuing Lau Tien. There are some nice costumes used. Picture quality is average. For the afficianado: Shek Kien, who played Han in Enter the Dragon, plays the real Lau Tien!!
