<[:-} gorillas lusting after human women, part 1
go for it, spanky! charlotte austin projects a breathy, marilyn monroid sexuality. her scenes with the gorillas, at the beginning and end of this film, are what make it worth while. we also get the requisite speech about an angora sweater being "soft like kitten's fur," which feels so familiar, so right. there is creative use of stock footage, most of which is entertaining. by introducing two indian tigers escaped into "gorilla country" in africa, it gets really silly and overlong, but it is amusing how wood sets it all up. i won’t give away too much of the happy ending, except to say that the best man wins, and the loser seems to be a very good sport about it.
