Pornstar: Whodathoughtit?
This wasn't the best documentary I've seen, but it beats the bioflick Wadd on John Holmes. Pornstar reveals a shade of Ron Jeremy that I doubt anyone would have ever anticipated. Recommended positively.

the heart & soul of porn....
i agree wholeheartedly with pablo. not only is the "legend of ron jeremy" a well-structured, crisp documentary, but it allows the viewer to enter a world most porn fans or ron jeremy fans rarely consider. porn always and, most likely, will forever wear the scarlet "P", but most people consider only the time frame between the campy intro music and the money shot. this documentary, however, exposes a whole other world, that of porn king ron jeremy, and it is a world that is dark, alientating, and lonely. not only is he a typecast figure that will probably remain in such a position, but he is a typecast porn figure to add to it. to hear ron jeremy lament about some day wanting a family, a wife and children, and his dream of becoming a "real" actor, makes you think differently about the lifestyles porn stars lead outside of the celluloid frame. i could, then again, be exaggerating the film's effect. but there appears a much deeper philosophy to ron jeremy, captured beautifully in a scene where he hugs a tree that stands outside his former boyhood home. the documentary is also loaded with comedy to balance the other dark brooding themes. either way, the film is beautifully crafted and exposes jeremy's life in a way most people are completely unfamiliar with. definitely a must see for any doc & porn fans...
