this film tries very hard to be shocking, but the cast performs their roles so ineffectively and the direction is so flaccid that “...abduction” has no impact. neither is anything bad enough to be funny. its just ugly and boring. i was somewhat surprised that this “director’s cut” has zero nudity. an alternate title for this is “cycle psycho.” the current imdb comment points out that the more appropriate title “cycle wuss” probably wouldn’t sell many tickets. the head (male) biker is named chelsea. another is named “irish,” but is pretty consistently referred to as “iris.” the third is “romeo,” played by sean kenney. troma’s lloyd kaufman makes a big point of his having played “crippled captain pike” in the original star trek series. character actor joe turkel looks psychotic enough as the murderous mamma’s boy, but comes across as a total clown. in 1980 he would have a much better, tiny, role as the bartender in “the shining” and would score big as eldon tyrell in “blade runner” (1982). i generally avoid troma trash as i’ve found it to almost always be a rip-off. this disc kicked me back to the chapters menu twice, so i finally skipped part of one scene. enduring lloyd kaufman’s stumbling, inept attempts to be funny in the intro made random phrases like “wood chipper” and “sissy sausage” pop into my head.
