Wow
When they say it's a disturbing film, they're not kidding. There were many, many cringe-worthy scenes. It's definitely worth the rent, if only for the hook scene.

Not very good at all.
I've been meaning to see this lil' video ever since it came out in the early 1980's. (C'mon, who could resist the "banned in X number of countries" warning?) Well, I finally saw it and was VERY dissappointed. The story is about a gang of idiots from NYC (consisting of a woman working on her PhD to show that cannibalism doesn't exist, her boyfriend, a female friend, and two criminals) which goes to the Amazon. Not to give too much away, but the natives go after the gang with gruesome results. It's at this point I must warn fear film fanatics that the gruesome scenes were few and far between (and, no, I don't count the killing of animals given I used to live in a rural area) and many were laughably bad. Then there was the dopey subplot about the cops in NYC trying to track down the gang of idiots in the Amazon. I actually said to myself, "Come on and make 'em die slowly a little faster. I'm BORED!" "Cannibal Holocaust" was much better.
