Old Jacki Chan, But!
BUT, J. Chan has only a bit role in this movie (when these stars get big, anything they happen to be in gets advertised as if its a great movie typifying whatever one expects in their popular movies). Yet this is very unlike a modern 'fun' Chan movie, and he's only maybe 20 yrs old here, it took me a bit to recognize him. During WWII a Chinese theater troop gets harassed by Japanese soldiers. This movie makes the Japanes to be as sadistic and cruel as you're likely to see, and should get an 'R' rating for sheer brutality!! Its not a bad movie in that the villains are well played and convey a tangible tension throughout. Descent if you like 'em a bit on the raw side. The print quality on the All Season Entertainment release is very good, original and uncut. Dubbed Matt :) Matt
