this is a something weird video triple feature. i didn’t have a chance to watch “atomic brain” again. the last time, i found it to be a lot more fun to read or write about than to watch: plenty of psychotic elements, but very dry, artless presentation. i rented this dvd for “love after death” because it was an argentinian movie from the golden era of emilio vieryra and isabel sarli. there is plenty of quality tna, but not much of a movie to tie it together. some impotent guy gets buried alive (or does he?) and comes back from the grave to prove his manhood with women. its weird enough, but not in an interesting way. “petrified world” is another of john carradine’s rip-off non-movies, mostly boring conversation in what’s supposed to be an underground cavern. carradine is in pretty good form, apparently sober and not in “you fool” bluster mode. thinking he is responsible for the horrible deaths of four underlings he shows some depression, but no detectible remorse. there is a weird man in an absurd looking fake beard that is supposed to have gotten trapped “the same way you did.” huh? i thought that required a diving bell that had just been invented. the science in this movie is criminally bad.
