THAT'S ENOUGH. NEXT!
THIS IS REALLY OVER-RATED. THE BEGINNING IS BORING. THE SET-UP IS OVER-LONG, CLUMSY, AND WITHOUT MUCH TENSION. THE CLIMAX IS CERTAINLY AQUIRM-INDUCING, BUT ITS ALSO CONFUSING AND POINTLESS.

Taste the Pain
I'm not sure how to describe Takashi Miike's The Audition. It slowly builds and builds and then there's a giant explosion. I'm still piecing things together in my mind about it. Miike's not "The Japanese Cronenberg," as I've heard him called. At least, not in this film. He's something different. I need to see more of his films. Anyway, just rent it. PS: The subtitles were a bit weak at moments. Plenty of typos and grammatical errors (e.g., confusion of the present and past tense) throughout. Still understandable, though.
